Happy Wednesday Everyone! I’m so excited about this weeks WIAW because last Sunday I had a fantastic day celebrating my friend Meagan’s birthday by wine tasting up in the Napa Valley. Meagan’s fabulous fiance was out of town for her birthday so he rented a limo to take her and 4 friends wine tasting for the day. Major fiance points huh?!?!
I try never to take for granted that I live in the fabulous place that I do. One of the most beautiful places in the world is just an hour and a half away. Every time I head up to wine country I am amazed by the beauty, food, and of course wine! So without further ado…
The day started off with a grande americano and three quinoa cookies as I was running out the door.
How much did you love the Starbucks Valentine’s cups?! Me too!!
Then it was up to wine country! We stopped at SolBar, a fabulous (Michelin Star rated!) restaurant set in probably one of the most gorgeous settings I have ever eaten in! It was even so sunny and warm we were able to eat outside! Since WIAW is focusing on veggies this month, I thought it only fitting to order this fabulous mushroom pizza…
Pizza counts as a veggie right?! I think I heard that somewhere
Because it was Meagan’s birthday, our waiter brought us an amazing treat to end our meal – some of the lightest, fluffiest, cinnamony sugarist doughnut holes I have ever had! You are never too old for doughnut holes!
After a couple of stops and a celebratory glass or two…
We headed home to San Francisco. For dinner we decided to keep the celebration going at Don Pisto’s.
The guacamole was the only thing that made it to the camera because everything was devoured in about 10 seconds flat! But we also shared shrimp tacos and veggie tortilla soup! (I am really stretching with the veggie theme, huh? )
We had a really amazing day, but after all my splurges I will definitely be having a more veggie filled WIAW next week!
